Kettlebell Jerk

Kettlebell Jerk

The Jerk is a mean name for a great exercise. Perhaps the person who named it was a jerk, or was frustrated trying to teach it to others. I can see the latter being true. This is one complicated exercise to teach! But it is so FUN when done correctly :)

To perform the Kettlebell Jerk - Clean the bell to rack position. Recoil into a 1/4 squat and simultaneously press the bell overhead into the locked position (as if you are trying to sneak under the bell). Next, stand up tall, with the bell still overhead. This is the second of three mini squats... To get the kettlebell back to the rack position, dip into that recoil 1/4 squat and use the deceleration to ease the bell back to the rack position.

Oh ya, and breath. You get all that?! LOL. Just watch the video till you are sick of it and go practice it. At the very least, you will get some good Push Presses in! One day it will just click and it will probably be one of you new favorite exercises.
